Scores and brief recaps from Greer-area HS football games on Sept. 18, 2026:

Byrnes 49, Spartanburg 21

For the first half of this one, it looked like whichever team had the ball last would win the game. Both offenses were trading blows and neither defense had an answer. The Rebels took a 28-21 halftime lead.

In the second half, however, the Rebel defense turned things around, pitching a shutout and powering Byrnes to a big win. QB Gideon Merhib was 15-20 for 199 yards passing and three TDs in the win.

Byrnes moves to 3-1 on the year.

Eastside 28, Wade Hampton 24

A much-improved Wade Hampton team gave Eastside all it could handle in the first game on the Eagles' new turf field. Eastside held on late, however, winning its second-straight game and improving to 2-2 on the season.

Pickens 42, Blue Ridge 21

After back-to-back tough losses for the Tigers against Greer and Wade Hampton, noticeable improvement from Blue Ridge was seen in this one. The Tigers kept it close most of the way, but the Blue Flame pulled away in the fourth quarter to remain undefeated.

Blue Ridge fell to 1-4 on the year with the loss.
