Nominees for the week of September 14-20 are:
 
Nas Angram, Byrnes football
Angram came up with multiple big plays on defense, including a fumble return for a touchdown in Byrnes' 49-21 win over Spartanburg.
 
Bennett Hyde, Eastside football
 
In a 28-24 win over Wade Hampton, Hyde had 10 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
 
Klynn Leamon, Blue Ridge volleyball
In a big region win over Christ Church, Leamon had 14 kills and a .539 hitting percentage as the Lady Tigers prevailed in five sets. 
 
The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week will be a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2026-2027 school year.
