A new storefront has made its mark on the bustling Trade Street.

Trade Street Social, a dining and entertainment venue, opened its doors two months ago and is now celebrating with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Trade Street Social came to Greer in early June. The business is owned by the Innovative Hospitality & Development Group, which takes historic, abandoned buildings in the Upstate and transforms them into event spaces. Other properties include The Mill at Fountain Inn and Warehouse at Vaughn’s in Simpsonville.

“We want people to feel like Trade Street Social is their go-to neighborhood spot,” said Lisa Murr, Marketing Director at Trade Street Social. “... It is casual and welcoming, but with enough variety that there is always something new to do. At the end of the day, we want every visit to feel like time well spent.”

At Trade Street Social, guests are invited to stay for more than just a good meal. The location has a laundry list of events to keep up the energy, including weekly trivia and music bingo. Frequent live music performances and a state-of-the-art golf simulator are also a large draw for crowds.

According to Murr, Greer acted as a perfect location for Innovative Hospitality & Development Group’s newest project. She says that the team at Trade Street Social hopes their location reflects the spirit of the town.

“Greer has such a strong sense of community and identity,” said Lisa Murr, Marketing Director at Trade Street Social. “Trade Street has become the heart of downtown, filled with local shops, restaurants and events that bring people together. We were drawn to that energy and wanted to be part of it.”

Now, Trade Street Social is gearing up for its fall festivities. Once football season rolls around, Murr says they plan on coming out with game-day specials and hosting watch parties for Clemson and Carolina fans.

“From the beginning, we have seen strong crowds, and it has been exciting to watch people make Trade Street Social part of their weekly routine,” Murr said. “The response so far has shown us that Greer was ready for a place that is more than just dinner. It is food, drinks and an experience.”
