The city of Greer celebrated its 150th anniversary with a community gathering that featured a vintage car show, history programs, live performances, local vendors, and circus acts. The event was held in partnership with the Greer Heritage Museum, which hosted a live Greer150 Radio Show and had booths telling different stories of Greer's history. The celebration was followed by a laser light show, and the city still has many events planned for the sesquicentennial year.

Trade Street Social, a dining and entertainment venue in downtown Greer, celebrated new additions and an updated look to its space with a VIP party. The restaurant has adopted a flexible seating and serving model, with high-tops, communal tables and lounge-style seating. The venue has also added several new forms of entertainment, including arcade-style games, basketball games and a Nintendo Switch.

Three of the four restaurants at Cartwright Food Hall in Greer will be closing on February 28, leaving only MoMo's Sushi and More in operation. The closures were announced via Instagram, with no reasoning given. Owners at MoMo's Sushi confirmed that they will remain open and thanked customers for their continued support.

Greer offers several local New Year's Eve celebrations, including an early bird toast at The Southern Growl, a party at The Mason Jar with live music, and a champagne toast at Ollie's Tavern. The Southern Growl will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve, while The Mason Jar will be open from 8:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. Ollie's Tavern will be open from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with no cover charge before 10 p.m.

The Greer Police Department and the City of Greer will host their second annual Trunk-or-Treat on Trade event on October 26th. The event will feature free Domino's pizza, a photo booth, touch-a-truck experiences for kids, and plenty of candy. Costumes are encouraged, and attendees can vote on their favorite trunk display. The event aims to build positive relationships with first responders and create community connections. Last year's event was a great success, and this year's event will have triple the number of trunks.

Creative Slingers of Ink is hosting its first Fall Book Festival in Greer on Oct. 18 at the Historic Greer Depot. The festival will feature 32 authors from across the nation, with many being local to the Upstate region. There will be over 50 genres and 150 book titles represented, as well as food vendors and a charity book drive benefiting Greer Relief. Attendees can also participate in a Passport to Reading game for a chance to win a box of books donated by the authors. The event is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trade Street Social, a dining and entertainment venue in downtown Greer, is celebrating its official ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 20. The venue, owned by Innovative Hospitality & Development Group, offers a variety of events, including weekly trivia, music bingo, live music performances and a state-of-the-art golf simulator. The venue is also preparing for fall festivities, including game-day specials and watch parties for Clemson and Carolina fans.
