Byrnes High School’s Memorie Melton is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.
Voting opened Monday and remained open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.
The senior Melton was elite at the plate in four games last week, batting 12-17 with a home run, five triples, 12 RBIs and nine runs, helping lead the Lady Rebels to a perfect 4-0 week.
Nominees for the week of March 30-April 5 included Melton, Edwin Altamirano of Greer, Jacob Johnson of Riverside, and Kilee Grant of Blue Ridge.
The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
