Nominees for the week of August 31-September 6 are:
 
Xavier Sammet, Greer football
Sammet threw for 294 yards and racked up five total touchdowns in just the first half of Greer's 59-13 win over Blue Ridge.
 
Jordan Callahan, Eastside girls track and field
 
Callahan was Eastside's top finisher in the Eye Opener International Race with a time of 18:48, good for third overall.
 
Peyton Stevenson, Riverside football
Stevenson had seven receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns in Riverside's 36-35 loss to Easley.
 
The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week will be a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2026-2027 school year.
