The Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit (GCMDEU) said it conducted an investigation into illicit drug activity. As a result of the investigation, Irby Jarrard Watkins was arrested on Sept. 4, 2025, and charged with the following offenses:
Trafficking Cocaine 400 grams or more
Trafficking Cocaine 100 grams to 200 grams (x4)
Trafficking Cocaine 10 grams or more
Trafficking Fentanyl 28 grams or more
Trafficking Fentanyl 4 grams to 14 grams
Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana (x3)
Trafficking Marijuana 10 pounds to 100 pounds
Seizures related to this investigation included:
21.64 pounds of Marijuana
1,508.09g of Cocaine
39.5g of Heroin
563.32g of Fentanyl
2 firearms
$4,176 in U.S. Currency
In addition to the GCMDEU investigation, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) executed a related search warrant at an address in Duncan, which resulted in the seizure of an additional 521 grams of Fentanyl.
The Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit is a combined effort undertaken by Sheriff Hobart Lewis and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, Greenville Police Department, Greer Police Department, Mauldin Police Department, Simpsonville Police Department, Fountain Inn Police Department, and the Travelers Rest Police Department.
