The Greer Cultural Arts Division will host its annual Gingerbread Jamboree event tomorrow, Dec. 9, from 6-8 p.m.

The Jamboree will feature live music performances, artwork sold by students at the Greer Center for the Arts and the gingerbread house competition display. This year, there are 14 entries across three categories: adult, youth and group designs.

“Hopefully, we’ll bring some holiday spirit,” said. Cultural Arts Director Robin Byouk. “We'll have the Carolina bronze bells, the annual student arts exhibition reception, [and] everyone loves looking at gingerbread houses.”

The winners of each competition category for the Gingerbread Jamboree will be announced on Tuesday evening. The houses will be displayed from 6-8 p.m., alongside a student art show reception and a student pottery sale.

This is the first time the Center for the Arts has hosted an art sale for its clay students. Byouk encourages attendees to do some holiday shopping while supporting local children in the arts.

“We have a lot of classes — five days a week, including Saturday,” she said. “So there’s a lot of students and a lot of great things being created.”

At 7 p.m., the Carolina Bronze Handbell Ensemble will have a performance in the auditorium. Attendees can tune into the show while browsing the gallery.
