The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with GreerNews.com, will host a Candidate Forum on Monday, Oct. 27.
The forum will be from 6-8 p.m. at the Cannon Centre (204 Cannon St). This event is open to the public and provides voters an opportunity to hear from local candidates ahead of the upcoming election.
“We’re proud to host conversations that connect our business community and local leaders,” said Katie Collins, CEO of the Greer Chamber. “This forum gives our community the opportunity to hear directly from those who want to lead it, and helps ensure Greer’s future is shaped by informed decisions and open dialogue.”
According to Collins, the forum is designed to foster transparency, engagement and informed voting. Each candidate will have two minutes to present their platform, followed by a moderated Q&A session.
The forum will be organized by race and district. At the local level, Greer has three competitive City Council Races and one non-competitive race for the Commission of Public Works. Read GreerNews’ coverage of the Council candidates, here.
“Events like this candidate forum strengthen the connection between residents, businesses, and local leaders,” said Bailey Dunlap, Chief Revenue Officer for GreerNews.com. “We’re honored to play a role in supporting that civic engagement and look forward to facilitating a meaningful dialogue between the candidates.”
