Republican Dianne Mitchell is leading in the polls for the State House District 21 special primary runoff election with 50.36% of the vote over her opponent, Steve Nail. If the results are certified, Mitchell will run uncontested on the Dec. 23 special election ballot for South Carolina House District 21. The election followed the resignation of House Representative Bobby Cox and ran simultaneously with the special primary for Senate District 12, which Lee Bright won.
Republican Paul Abbott Jr. has won the special election for Spartanburg County Council District Three. Abbott won over his Democrat opponent Kathryn Harvey, taking 55.85% of the vote. Results came in late Tuesday evening.

Polling stations across South Carolina will be open for the Nov. 4 General Election, with several municipalities, including Fountain Inn, having competitive races. Voters can check their sample ballot online to see what races they are voting for, and are required to provide a photo ID at the polling location. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Former State Senator Lee Bright is set to win the Republican primary election for State Senate District 12, having received 50.9% of the vote. If the results remain certified, he will run unopposed on the Dec. 23 ballot. Bright previously held the seat from 2009 to 2017 and is the lead sponsor of the Constitutional Carry bill and the Firearms Freedom Act. The special election follows the resignation of Senator Roger Nutt, who resigned due to a diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease.
