The Greer Police Department has arrested Robert Chase Langley of Greenville, following a stabbing incident in Greer early Christmas morning.
According to the department, officers responded to a residence on Park Ridge Circle regarding a reported stabbing at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Dec. 25. Officers arrived to find Langley had been injured, and he was transported to the hospital. He was later released from the hospital and taken into custody later in the day.
Detectives have charged Langley with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature. According to the arrest report, at the time of the incident, he got into a heated verbal exchange with another individual. This individual’s name has not been released by the department.
During the verbal exchange, the arrest warrant says Langley approached the other individual with a knife and attempted to strike them with the weapon. A video recording of the incident was reviewed by the department, and it was determined by the charging officer that Langley’s conduct had the potential to cause death or great bodily injury.
Langley is currently being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Facility on a $15,000 bond.
