A new mural celebrating the city’s sesquicentennial is currently in progress in downtown Greer.

Created by artist Adam Schrimmer of Blank Canvas Mural Company, the mural depicts a scene of downtown Greer from the late 1930s alongside the official Greer 150 logo. The mural is located on the side of The Davenport, at 230 Trade Street, a historic event hall now home to a local retro arcade.

“The new downtown mural captures a bustling scene from Trade Street in 1938 and is one of many ways we’re celebrating 150 years of Greer in 2026,” said Greer Mayor Rick Danner. “As we honor where we’ve been, we are intentionally designing a dynamic vision for the future. We’ve revitalized the section of downtown depicted in the mural, and now we’re making strategic investments to ensure the City of Greer is vibrant and thriving through the next 150 years.”

While an exact date is unknown, city officials say the mural should be completed in the coming weeks. Residents can view the mural at 230 Trade Street.
