The Muscle Veteran, a new massage therapy clinic in Greer, celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony late last month.

Owner Olivia Booth has been a massage therapist for nearly a decade, primarily assisting athletes and veterans in recovery following injury or strain. Booth is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran herself, and says she enjoys passing on knowledge that can help lead clients to a better life.

“There’s something oddly calming and freeing about spending time with fellow veterans and working together to improve their quality of life,” Booth said. “I love educating clients about their bodies, massage techniques, stretching and the importance of flexibility and mobility as they age. My goal is for all of my clients to feel safe, seen and heard, and to trust me to take care of them to the best of my abilities.”

Booth first began taking clients in November, working mainly with veterans referred through VA Community Care. At her practice, she offers therapeutic and post-surgical massages, cupping therapy, sports massages and stretching.

In the future, Booth hopes to build up her practice and eventually add additional massage therapists. Her favorite part of her work is building relationships with clients, and she notes Greer as a lively community to work in.

“There are so many sports, fitness and health-related communities here that I knew I would love helping everyone improve their performance and overall quality of life,” Booth said. “I love meeting new people, learning their history and fully seeing their faces when pain subsides or mobility returns. I love seeing the confidence and happiness when they get a piece of themselves back.”
