There are several events coming up that give Upstate residents the opportunity to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

Here’s a look at three events happening near Greer:

25th Anniversary Memorial Golf Tournament | Friday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m.

  • The Tyger River Firefighters Foundation will hold its annual Memorial Golf Tournament in Duncan on Friday, Sept. 11. The event will be held at River Falls Golf Course, and funds raised will benefit local programs. For more information or to donate, visit the Foundation’s website.

Travelers Rest Steak Dinner | Friday, Sept. 11, 6:30 p.m.

  • A local chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will host a steak dinner with a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11. Tickets are $18 and include steak, salad, a baked potato and a dessert. The event will be held at VFW Post 10058, located at 1185 Hwy 25 in Travelers Rest. Tickets must be purchased in person at the chapter.

Never Forget 9:11 Endurance Challenge | Sunday, Sept. 13, 8 a.m.

  • The Never Forget 9:11 Endurance Challenge runs from 8 a.m. to 5:11 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. Participants can run or walk for the duration of the challenge. Registration starts at $75 per person and is available online.
