Greer City Council Candidate Forum.png

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with GreerNews.com, hosted a Candidate Forum on Monday, Oct. 27, in the Cannon Centre.

The public event allowed constituents to come out and hear first-hand from the candidates for City Council. Each candidate had two minutes to present their platform, followed by a moderated Q&A session.

Residents can view the forum in its entirety on GreerNews’ Facebook page.

In this election cycle, the seats for City Council Districts Two, Four and Six are competitive. The forum began with District 4 candidates Lee Dumas, the incumbent, and Charles Lander. The forum then moved to District 6 with candidates Judy Albert, the incumbent, and Paul Lamb.

Finally, the forum moved to District Two, with candidates Karuiam Booker, the incumbent, and Tahitsha Pearson. Pearson was unable to attend the forum due to an out-of-state work commitment. For details on her platform, she encourages voters to visit her campaign’s Facebook page or to reach out to her directly. Booker had time to provide his own comments at the forum.

All of these candidates will be listed on the Nov. 4 General Election ballot for the Greer City Council race. GreerNews will continue to report on this election.
