Dennis Wayne Burnett, 66, born in Spartanburg County SC, passed away Monday October 26th, 2026. Dennis was the son of the late George and Tina Ally Burnett.
Dennis attended Spartanburg High School where he lettered in football and baseball until his graduation in 1978. He loved sports and went on to play semi pro baseball and also coached little league. He worked as a longtime truck driver for J. G. R. Trucking and in his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dennis is remembered by his children Jacob Burnett (Melanie) and Kimberly Wanser; his grandchildren Ryan Wanser and Hadley Burnett; his brothers Mike, Rick and Kelly Burnett as well as his sister Dori Jarecki.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 31 at Lyman Methodist Church in the Family Life Center located at 106 Groce Rd Lyman, SC.
