Eric Michael Pittman, age 39, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born on Oct. 17, 1986, in Hollywood, Florida, Eric moved to Asheville, North Carolina, in 1998. He attended Erwin Middle School and later Erwin High School, where he built lifelong friendships and memories.

Eric had a deep love for sports and an incredible ability to recall statistics, players, games and unforgettable moments with remarkable accuracy. A lifelong fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Florida State Seminoles, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his teams and share his passion with others. Beyond sports, he enjoyed fishing and treasured the time he spent with friends and family.

For more than a decade, Eric worked at Zaxby’s in Greer, where he formed lasting friendships and found a second family among his coworkers. He truly loved being part of that team and the community he served there. Affectionately known as “Wild Man” by those he worked alongside, Eric brought energy, laughter, and fun to every shift – a nickname that perfectly captured his spirited nature.

More than anything, Eric loved the Lord, and his family clings to the hope and promise of seeing him again.

He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Creekmore (“Dibby”), and father, Walter Pittman Jr.; his beloved daughter, Aubrey Pittman; his sister, Jessica Pittman La Rose (Scott); his twin sister, Erica Michelle Pittman (Brian Tipton); and his brothers, Greg Pittman (Tara), Cory Pittman, and Justin Pittman. He is also survived by his Aunt Jenni Leve (Sid), Uncle Michael Pittman (Debra), and Aunt Diane Giles (Lee); his cherished nieces, Hadleigh Grace Atkinson, Adalyn Powell, and Lorelei Pittman; his nephews, Lincoln La Rose, Cole La Rose, and Chase Pittman; as well as many loving cousins and extended family members.

He is also survived by special mentors who meant so much to him: Mike Godfrey (“Boss Man”), Mike Cribbs (Jeannie), and David Crompton (Janet), whose guidance, influence, and love played an important role in his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Walter Pittman Sr., Alice Pittman, Virginia Willoughby Creekmore, Marion “Snooks” Creekmore, and Ralph Hinson; his uncle, Lewis Creekmore; his aunt, Evelyn Creekmore; and his uncle, Gary Pittman Sr.

Visitation will be held from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. March 1 at The Wood Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Bobby Howard with webcasting available at www.thewoodmortuary.com.

A reception and time of fellowship will follow the service at Bellamore Event Venue in Greer, where family and friends are invited to stay, share memories and honor Eric’s life together.

To honor Eric, the family asks that you wear your favorite sports team attire to celebrate his life at the service.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers in the ICU at Greer Memorial Hospital for the kindness, dignity, and exceptional care shown to Eric and to all who loved him during his final days.
