Robert Eugene Sharpe, 87, passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2026. He was the son of the late Albert L. and Garnet E. (Bales) Sharpe and the loving husband of Sharon J. Sharpe. Robert was born and raised in Canton Illinois. He and Sharon raised their family in Moline Illinois - but they have been residents of South Carolina for over 30 years.
Robert served his country honorably in the United States Army and played his trumpet in the Army Band. He enjoyed a successful career as a warehouse and plant manager spanning over four decades. In retirement, he liked gardening, working in his yard and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his children, Alisa J. Sharpe and Derrick A. & Sandra K. Sharpe; grandchildren, Jarrod Sharpe, Zachary & Catherine Sharpe, Jacob Sharpe, and Rebecca Sharpe; and one great grandchild, Elijah Sharpe.
Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura R. Sharpe; his parents; and brothers Donald L. Sharpe and David L. Sharpe.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at Living Waters Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m.
