It is with heavy hearts, that we regret to inform you of the passing of Robert Shirk Wolgemuth, age 87, of Travelers Rest, SC. On Saturday, August 9, 2025, “Bob” went home to meet his Savior, who he loved with all his heart.
He was a native of Manheim, Pennsylvania, and the son of the late Melvin Lehman and Anna Vera Shirk Wolgemuth. He was a United States Airforce Veteran, a retired builder, and a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God.
Bob was devout in his love for our Lord and for his family. He saw beauty in all of nature and marveled at the greatness of God’s creation; often quoting a verse a scripture from his heart that expressed the wonders his eyes beheld. During his life, he was a Sunday school Teacher, builder of thirty-two churches, a devoted husband, and father, who raised his children in the admonition of the Lord. He was faithfully, fervently, always Grounded in Christ. He embodied the Wolgemuth namesake, he was good-natured, cheerful, well-intended, and kind.
He is survived by his wife, Rayce Lynn Wolgemuth; six children, Lamar A. Wolgemuth (Rachel), Tonja Wolgemuth Larke (Mark), Cindi Wolgemuth Rosenthal (James), Daryl Lee Wolgemuth (Jessica), Kevin Cutter, and Dara Bell; eight grandchildren, Megan Larke (Michael), Kaitlin Goheen (Spencer), Joshua Larke, Shelby Ann Wolgemuth, Riley Wolgemuth, James Rosenthal, Zachary Thomas Cutter, and Javin Cutter; and one great-grandchild, Wakely Iris.
Bob Wolgemuth was preceded in death by his brother, Jan Melvin Wolgemuth, and his wife, Shelby Jean Wolgemuth.
Funeral Services and a Celebration of his Life will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Praise Cathedral. The service will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Madden and Pastor Bobby Johnson.
Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Praise Cathedral.
The family will have a private burial at Mountain View Memorial Park on Monday, August 18, 2025.
