Greer CPW's annual Holiday Lights Contest is in its 11th year, with eight contestants across three categories. The competition is open to residential electric customers, and winners will receive a $250 prize. Home light displays are judged based on creativity, originality, visual impact, theme execution, craftsmanship, holiday spirit, and use of LEDs. The "Social Media Favorite" competition is open for public voting until Dec. 30, and winners will be announced on Dec. 31. The event promotes the use of LEDs and timers for energy efficiency.

The City of Greer is hosting various holiday events throughout December, including a tree lighting ceremony, Christmas at the Museum, a farmers market Christmas festival, a gingerbread jamboree and a Christmas parade. Outside of Greer, the Towns of Duncan Lyman are hosting their own Christmas parades. The events will feature food vendors, live music, kids' activities and special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Sewing Up Dreams, a custom infant and children's clothing store in Greer, is hosting a Christmas Open House this Saturday. The event will feature local vendors, a craft workshop and plenty of festive activities. Owner Leigh Radlein will be debuting Sewing Up Dreams' 2025 Christmas ornament, with all proceeds benefiting the Syl Syl Christmas Toy Drive, and Santa Claus will make a guest appearance. The free event is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 703 W. Poinsett St.
