A 73-year-old woman, Sandra Gail Cothran, died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle on January 8, 2026, at the intersection of Wade Hampton Blvd and Saint Mark Rd in Taylors. She was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on January 17, 2026. The incident is still being investigated by the Greenville County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Deputies were called to search for Rebecca Beets, who was reported missing, and were able to locate her using a drone. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

An unidentified adult male was shot and killed in the early hours of Saturday morning in Greer, South Carolina. The victim was found by police officers responding to a 911 call reporting a gunshot in the area of 308 Trade Street. The cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death was ruled an accident. The Greenville County Coroner's Office is investigating the incident in partnership with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
