Spartanburg Community College has launched a new one-year cosmetology program at its Tyger River Campus, featuring a modern salon-style floor and instructional labs. The program has 36 enrolled students and offers comprehensive training in hair design, skincare and nail technology, with the opportunity to work directly with clients in the college's on-campus clinic. The program has partnered with Salon Centric, a Florida-based company owned by L'Oréal, for its salon-grade products. The college hopes to enroll 20 new students each semester.

Spartanburg Community College (SCC) has successfully implemented its Johnson Controls Community College Partnership Program, which has provided over $115,000 in new technology and equipment, as well as supplies, books, and student support for HVAC education. The program has equipped SCC's Cherokee County Campus with state-of-the-art equipment, installed Metasys building automation systems at other campuses, and awarded professional HVAC toolkits to 15 students. In the third year, the toolkit program will be expanded to include all students enrolled in HVAC programs across both campuses. The grant's funding is allocated over three years, including $150,000 in equipment upgrades and installation, $110,000 in supplies, tuition, fees, and books, and $30,000 supporting lunch and learns, curriculum development, training, site visits, and marketing/recruitment initiatives.

Spartanburg Community College has announced the Dean's List recipients for the Fall 2025 semester, with 18 students from Greer, 20 from Lyman and 24 from Duncan being recognized for their academic excellence. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher with no course grade lower than a "C." Spartanburg Community College (SCC) has received a $4,300 grant from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to address food insecurity among its students. The funding will support SCC's initiatives, such as Chaser's Pantry, community partnerships, and student support services, which aim to expand access to healthy food options and strengthen nutrition-focused programming. The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in grant funding since its inception in 2001 to support local organizations working to increase access to nutritious food and promote long-term health and wellness.

Spartanburg Community College (SCC) has received over $1.15 million in funding to expand workforce training, strengthen innovation infrastructure, and accelerate economic development in Spartanburg County and South Carolina. The investments will support the development of a state-of-the-art clean room facility at SCC's Spark Center, which will provide nearly 400,000 square feet of adaptable space to support business expansion and ensure lasting economic impact. The project is expected to support the creation of three new life sciences businesses within three years of the grant closeout, while an estimated six unique companies will utilize the clean room for short-term or long-term operations during that same period.

Spartanburg Community College (SCC) has announced the continuation of the Live to Chase initiative for the 2026-2027 academic year, which offers full-tuition scholarships to eligible students. The program aims to reduce financial barriers and provide access to certificates and degrees without tuition debt. Students must live or work full-time in South Carolina, be enrolled in one of SCC's eligible programs, take at least six credit hours per semester, maintain a GPA of at least 2.2, and complete the federal financial aid application to qualify.
