The African Children's Choir, a program of Music for Life, is touring Upstate South Carolina throughout the spring, offering residents an experience that highlights faith and culture. The choir comprises 17 children aged 8 to 11, all from vulnerable backgrounds across Africa, who will participate in a cross-cultural exchange by being hosted by local families. The concerts will feature traditional hymns and African cultural sounds, and donations are appreciated to continue the Choir's work. No tickets are required.

Capri's Italian Restaurant, a popular Italian restaurant chain in Upstate, is set to open its fifth location in Greer, replacing the former Tipsy Taco on Wade Hampton Boulevard. The new restaurant will open for dinner on February 19 at 4 p.m., and is currently hiring for the Greer location. Capri's has existing locations in Greenville, Easley, Boiling Springs, and Woodruff Road.

Pamela Booke Schronce, owner of the Thomas and Turner Boutique in Belton, has been arrested for the third time on charges related to her business. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office received two separate reports from victims who made purchases for which they never received the merchandise or a refund. Schronce was arrested on two counts of Obtaining Property Under False Pretenses and has been released after posting bond. Similar cases are currently under investigation throughout the Upstate.

The 14th Annual Upstate S.C. Law Enforcement Memorial Softball Tournament will be held on Aug. 23 at Century Park in Greer. The event, hosted by the Greer Police Department and Gallagher's Heroes Fallen Officer Fund, aims to raise support for the families of fallen officers in the Upstate. The event is free and open to the public.

Inland Port Greer set a new record for rail moves in the fiscal year 2025, with 205,523 moves. This is up nearly 10% from 2024. The growth is attributed to a recent expansion project that added 9,000 feet of additional rail, expanded the container yard and increased cargo capacity by 50%. The project is expected to allow the port to meet projected customer demand through 2040. As a whole, S.C. Ports' rail moves are up 4% for the fiscal year.
