She was silly, funny and full of personality and there was rarely a dull moment when JoAnn was around. She had a tender heart for the people she loved and gave that love freely and wholeheartedly.

JoAnn treasured her family and the life they shared together. She and her beloved husband, Paul, shared 55 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Paul Smith; sons, Jeffery (Mindi) Smith and Jason (Keisha) Smith; grandchildren, Hayley (Ramaro) Durham, Jackson Smith, and Walker Smith; great-granddaughter, Jasmyn Durham; and brothers, Larry McCue, Jerry McCue, and Dennis McCue.

In addition to her parents, Doris and Ansel McCue, JoAnn was preceded in death by her brother, Harry McCue.

JoAnn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, joyful spirit, unmistakable sense of humor and the extraordinary way she loved those around her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and laughter and a love that will remain with her family and friends for years to come.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 4 at Camp Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens following the service.
