Mary Jo Poe Earnest, 84, wife of the late Hugh Stephenson Earnest, passed away September 5, 2026.
A native of Walker County, Alabama, daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Arah Elizabeth Gurganus Poe, she was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church Greer.
Surviving are a daughter, Katherine McCollum (Matthew) of Huntsville, Alabama; a son, Brian Earnest (Marianne) of Moore, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Christopher McCollum (Kati) and Erin Martin (Isaiah); and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Earnest.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Tammy Shelton, the staff of A Remedy Home Care specifically Marsha, Kim, and Shaterrica, and the staff of Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff.
