Downtown Greer will host two special events this weekend, each celebrating unique aspects of the city’s history.
The Greer Farmers Market will host its 6th Annual Peach Cookoff Fundraiser on Sunday, July 19, at Greer City Park.
Community members are invited to bring their photos, documents or artifacts related to Greer to the Greer Heritage Museum for its History Drive on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can donate items or have them scanned and returned if they wish to keep their old treasures.
Greer’s District Two City Council representative Karuiam Booker will host two forums for local business owners this Thursday, April 30.
The Greer Heritage Museum will host the second event in its "Stories of Greer" series, focusing on the town's textile history. The event will take place at the Greer Mill, the last remaining textile mill in the city, which is being restored by a developer. The talk will be held in the boiler room, which has been preserved in almost complete original condition. Tickets are free but required and can be reserved online. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. on Sunday, and closed on Monday.
