Robert Chase Langley was arrested for attempting to stab another individual with a knife during a heated verbal exchange on Christmas morning in Greer. Greer Police has charged Langley with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, and he is currently being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Facility on a $15,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing.
The Greer Police Department is seeking public assistance in locating 17-year-old Rayne Jeppson, who ran away from the Backacre Court area on Friday night. Rayne was last seen wearing a white long T-shirt and red pants. The department is urging anyone with information to contact them immediately.
The Greer Police Department's Cops for Tots program is entering its 36th year, providing gifts to local children who might otherwise go without during Christmas. The initiative is funded entirely through donations and is the department's largest community outreach event. Each participating child is paired with a uniformed officer, and together they walk through a makeshift toy store to select gifts. Families needing assistance can apply online or in person, and residents and businesses can donate new, unwrapped toys or monetary contributions.

The Greer Police Department has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), joining the city's fire department in achieving the highest standards in their profession.
