Greer has revealed its Greer 150 branding for its sesquicentennial year, which features a logo created by local designer Scott Prather. The logo is inspired by historical murals and features a hand-drawn illustration of City Hall. The logo is intended to honor the town's past while looking to its future, and can be seen on merchandise available at the Greer Heritage Museum and online.
The City of Greer Juried Arts Exhibition is calling for local artists to submit their original 2D or 3D works that fit the theme "150 Years of Greer" and have a secure wire for hanging. The exhibition will be on display at the Edward R. Driggers City of Greer Center for the Arts from February to March, with a reception on Feb. 10. There is no entry fee, and the jury committee will award cash prizes.
The Greer Heritage Museum has completed its renovation and unveiled its new look with a ribbon-cutting and open house event. The museum has not only changed its exhibits but also how it tells Greer's story, according to Museum Director David Lovegrove. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. on Sunday, and closed on Monday.

The Greer City Council has approved an amendment to its business license ordinance, updating the business license class schedule and slightly changing licensing fees. The council also approved three annexation ordinances and three resolutions, including one that adds Presidents Day to the holiday schedule for city employees and another that authorizes the city to look into the partial closure of Moore Street. The council also heard three items for their first readings, all of which were approved to carry on to a second and final reading.
