Greer has revealed its Greer 150 branding for its sesquicentennial year, which features a logo created by local designer Scott Prather. The logo is inspired by historical murals and features a hand-drawn illustration of City Hall. The City of Greer Juried Arts Exhibition is calling for local artists to submit their original 2D or 3D works that fit the theme "150 Years of Greer" and have a secure wire for hanging. The exhibition will be on display at the Edward R. Driggers City of Greer Center for the Arts from February to March, with a reception on Feb. 10. There is no entry fee, and the jury committee will award cash prizes.

The Greer Heritage Museum will host an open house on Jan. 3 to kick off Greer's 150th anniversary. The event will feature a ribbon cutting, live music, free popcorn, a photo booth and a new Greer 150 merch store. The first 20 guests will receive free Greer 150 merch, and additional merchandise is available for purchase online. The event will be from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday at the Greer Heritage Museum.

The Greer City Council has approved an amendment to its business license ordinance, updating the business license class schedule and slightly changing licensing fees. The council also approved three annexation ordinances and three resolutions, including one that adds Presidents Day to the holiday schedule for city employees and another that authorizes the city to look into the partial closure of Moore Street. The council also heard three items for their first readings, all of which were approved to carry on to a second and final reading.

The city of Greer is seeking submissions for a branding package to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2026. The winning design will be used in marketing materials, signage, merchandise, public art and digital platforms throughout the anniversary year. Interested designers should submit their applications to the Greer Cultural Arts Council before Sept. 5. The final selected designer will receive a design contract of $4,000.
